So the table, quilt, and linen sheet set have arrived. See the plan for details and sources. We had to chop about 7 inches off the table legs and redo the top since it was a bit rough, but now it’s looking pretty great. Turns out the table top is made out of Saeple (an exotic wood that is used as a mahogany substitute). The prominent stripes in the grain definitely give it visual interest.
The room is painted a custom pale aqua that I absolutely love. It’s similar to Sherwin Williams Sea Salt, but a little bit less grayed out. The coolness of the walls stand up well to the strong, golden afternoon light (western exposure!). It’s a small bedroom but the windows have a spectacular view, so you feel like you are in a cozy perch high in the air.
